ZWO ASI482MC Color – High-Sensitivity Color Astronomy Camera
The ZWO ASI482MC Color is a color astronomy camera based on the back-illuminated Sony IMX482 sensor, designed for planetary, lunar, solar (with certified filters), and EAA imaging. Thanks to its large 5.8 µm pixels, it offers high sensitivity, an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and superior performance with long-focal-length telescopes.
Key Features
- Back-illuminated Sony IMX482 color sensor.
- 5.8 µm pixels for maximum light gathering.
- 1920 × 1080 resolution (2.1 MP).
- Low read noise and excellent sensitivity.
- High frame rate for planetary imaging.
- USB 3.0 for fast data transfer.
- DDR3 buffer for stable acquisition.
- Great for EAA and fast deep-sky imaging.
- Compatible with ASIAIR, SharpCap, FireCapture, NINA.
- Compact aluminum body with good thermal dissipation.
Large pixels: the real advantage
The 5.8 µm pixels allow for:
- Higher sensitivity in average seeing conditions
- Better results on planets and the Moon
- Excellent performance with SCT and Maksutov telescopes
- More effective EAA on faint objects
