The Lacerta Herschel prism is used for observing and photographing the Sun in white light (sunspots, granulation, penumbra) with a refractor telescope. The prism sends only a small portion of light to the eyepiece, and the included ND3 grey filter attenuates it further; the 1.25" connector has an internal T2 thread for both observation and photography.
Key features
- For refractor telescopes only without built-in correctors.
- Nearly 100% polarized light thanks to the Brewster angle: with a polarizer filter, brightness can be adjusted by rotating the eyepiece or camera adapter.
- A polarizer filter is also required for visual observation, not included. The correct order is: telescope, prism, filters, eyepiece.
- 1.25" output with internal T2 thread: a camera with a T2 ring can be connected directly.
