TS-Optics 1.0x Newton Coma Corrector TSGPU Superflat - 4 elements - 2" connection, latest model
The TS GPU Newtonian planar coma corrector for astrophotography. This coma corrector is an advancement of the GPU by Pal Gyulai - GPU-Optics. The result is a high-quality 4-element corrector that provides round stars across the entire field of view, even with the largest camera sensors. Simply search for the TS Superflat Coma Corrector on Astrobin to see how well this corrector performs on Newtonian telescopes. Unlike 2-element correctors, stars are not magnified, and there are no halos. Furthermore, the entire structure has been designed to be reflection-free. Even the brightest stars will be shown without reflections or ghosting. Advantages of the GPU coma corrector: • Excellent coma correction for Newtonian telescopes from f/3.5 to f/6 • No change in focal length. • The focal plane is shifted outward by 20 mm, preventing the corrector from protruding into the tube. • Stars are smaller - no halo effect. • The corrector can be inserted or screwed to the focuser via an optional adapter. • The TS GPU corrector offers correction for up to full-frame sensors. For perfect illumination, a FLAT is required. Optimal working distance from the M48 thread to the camera sensor: The optimal working distance is 55 mm from the M48 male thread. The external thread does not count, as it disappears into the connection adapter. With our wide range of adapters, you can always reach the optimal distance. The TS Optics innovation: screwing the GPU corrector to the focuser. With optional adapters, you can screw the corrector to the drawer. For this purpose, the corrector features an extended M48x0.75 thread on the camera side. Simply lower the locking ring to have an additional 3 mm of M48 thread available for screw-on adaptations. Thanks to the threaded connection, you achieve stability and precision. The image is improved, and even heavy cameras can be used. Tip for an astro-camera with 17.5 mm back focus and T2 connector: The camera back focus or flange focal distance is the distance from the T2 thread (M42x0.75) to the sensor. Most cooled astro-cameras have this distance. Adaptation with a filter drawer: • Astro-camera ... 17.5 mm flange focal distance • TSM48-T2L extension for M48 ... 6 mm travel • TSFSLM48 ... Filter drawer ... 18 mm travel • BAHYP14 ... 14 mm M48 extension ... 14 mm travel. Adding 0.5 mm compensates for the optical path of the filter. Approximately 1/3 of the filter diameter should always be added to the working distance of the corrector (55 mm).
