TS UNC 2" RAP focuser for Newtonian telescopes The TS UNCN2-G2 focuser is optimized for Newtonian telescopes when heavy accessories need to be focused with precision. This focuser is optimized especially for astrophotography. Therefore, we also recommend this focuser for the ONTC and UNC Newtonian telescopes of our own production. The advantages and features of the UNCN2-G2 focuser: • Maximum rigidity - the drawtube is supported by 8 ball bearings and the drawtube adjustment is carried out via a rack-and-pinion gear • 22 mm adjustment range via the gear • The focuser holds up to 5 kg with maximum precision • M54x0.75 intermediate thread for screw-in adaptations or, if the drawtube needs to be extended, suitable extension tubes are available • One of the shortest focusers in its class, with only 58 mm total height up to 2" and only 50 mm total height up to the M54x0.75 thread when the drawtube is retracted • Easy to attach to existing tubes, the base is included in the scope of delivery • The focuser is not locked by pressure on the drawtube, which can cause tilting. It is locked by the adjustment shaft. This allows the focus position to be maintained at 100% without the risk of tilting, which is important for astrophotography • The 1:11 dual speed provides accurate manual adjustment, especially for fast telescopes. Motorized controls for the focuser are available. Screw connection of correctors to the M54x0.75 thread of the focuser: If the corrector is screwed to the focuser, tilting is prevented. Therefore, many astrophotographers attach great importance to this aspect. We have developed a short adapter for M48x0.75 specifically for this focuser, model # M54a-M48i. The adapter is only 3 mm short. It is available in the accessories section • Baader MPCC and TS-Optics TSGPU coma correctors have an additional M48 thread for screw-in adaptations. You can use these threads and have the entire 55 mm working distance at your disposal. However, you can also use other correctors with the short # M54a-M48i adapter, but the prerequisite is that the M48 thread on the camera side is at least 5 mm long. This leaves enough thread for the connection to the camera. Please note, however, that the working distance of the corrector is reduced by 3 mm.
