The 10 mm Plössl is an excellent all-round eyepiece. It offers good performance on the Moon and planets, but also on compact and bright deep-sky objects. Areas of application for Plössl eyepieces: Thanks to its four-element design, the Plössl is a true "all-rounder." It does not introduce additional chromatic aberration into the system, unlike simpler eyepieces with fewer elements. As a result, these eyepieces can be used very well for observing the Moon and planets at higher magnifications. At lower magnifications, Plössl eyepieces are suitable for observing nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies, as they impress with a relatively distortion-free field of view. Astrophotographers can also work well with Plössl eyepieces, as they are suitable for eyepiece projection. The MgF2 coating prevents annoying reflections and provides good contrast. However, many projection adapters are too narrow for Plössl eyepieces with a focal length of 32 or 40 mm.
