Unistellar N114/450 eVscope 2 Telescope + Backpack
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Unistellar eVscope 2 ingeniously combines the functionality of a traditional GoTo telescope with next-generation technology. The faint light from distant nebulae and galaxies, collected by the telescope, is captured by a highly sensitive sensor and projected into the eyepiece via a modern OLED screen. This adds the advantages of computerized control and image intensification to traditional observation.
Smart and extremely easy to use
Simply turn it on, choose the object you want to observe via the app, and start your observation. There is no need for laborious polar alignment procedures or extensive knowledge of the celestial sphere. The eVscope orients itself automatically using an internal compass, an accelerometer, and plate-solving (recognition of the portion of the sky being viewed). The eVscope is controlled wirelessly and intuitively via the Unistellar app (Android/iOS) installed on your smartphone or tablet. The integrated battery provides power for the entire night, for up to 10 hours. The days of tangled cables and bulky external batteries are over.
Autonomous Field Detection
A feature that outshines traditional GoTo! Thanks to the brilliant plate-solving procedure, the eVscope can analyze the stars in the field of view in just a few seconds and determine its orientation. In this way, every object can be located and tracked in the night sky with extreme precision at the touch of a button.
Enhanced Vision Technology
Faint objects such as nebulae and galaxies are barely detectable with traditional telescopes, appearing only as blurred, luminous smudges. With the eVscope, however, you simply need to activate image intensification (live-stacking). This feature allows the telescope to display images derived not only from single shots but from a sum of frames, thereby collecting light over a longer period. After just a few seconds, the object being observed will appear as it would through no other instrument of this size: as the minutes pass, you will see the object become clearer and more intense, with surface structures and colors clearly recognizable.
Robust optics
The Newtonian telescope, with a 114 mm aperture and 450 mm focal length, has a fast f/4 focal ratio. The sensor therefore captures a particularly bright image. The parabolic primary mirror produces no spherical or chromatic aberrations.
The Bahtinov mask integrated into the dust cap makes focusing child's play, so even without experience or prior knowledge, you will quickly achieve a sharp image. In place of the secondary mirror, the eVscope includes a Sony IMX347 sensor. Thanks to its extremely low read noise, this CMOS chip is also used in many high-sensitivity astronomical cameras.
The image captured by the sensor is processed by the eVscope and presented in the eyepiece. This is where the high-contrast OLED screen comes into play. The resulting experience is that of live observation with an optical telescope! Naturally, the observed object is also displayed on your smartphone or tablet.
SETI partnership
In collaboration with SETI, you can contribute to scientific discoveries and become part of a worldwide network of eVscope telescopes. The data recorded by your eVscope helps scientists study supernovae, comets, and asteroids.
