Skywatcher Starquest 70R - Refractor

The new Sky-Watcher StarQuest equatorial mount is a valid and more high-performance alternative to those with a classic design, ensuring remarkable stability, a payload capacity of up to 3kg and, thanks to the convenient clutch system on both axes, smooth and effective movements.

The clutch system inherited from its sister model, the AZ-EQ Avant, allows for exceptional performance in terms of handling and ease of pointing, without sudden jerks or friction that could compromise observations. Once the axes are locked, you can use the mount for fine and precise pointing thanks to the micrometric movements provided by the worm gear – 122-tooth gear system.

For effective polar alignment, it is sufficient to use your smartphone's bubble level function to set the mount's altitude with the dedicated knob to a value equal to your observation latitude in degrees and orient the mount itself in azimuth towards the celestial North Pole. By then acting only on the Right Ascension axis via the micrometric controls, you will be able to keep the object you are observing in the field of view.

The practicality and lightness of the mount will surprise you! The compact, foldable aluminum tripod is equipped with a convenient accessory tray to safely store all your eyepieces and your smartphone.
