Skywatcher Starquest 114N - Newtonian

The new Sky-Watcher StarQuest equatorial mount is a valid and higher-performing alternative to those with a classic design, ensuring remarkable stability, a payload capacity of up to 3kg, and—thanks to the convenient clutch system on both axes—smooth and effective movements.

The clutch system, inherited from its twin, the AZEQ Avant, allows for exceptional performance in terms of handling and ease of pointing, without sudden jolts or friction that could compromise your observations. Once the axes are locked, the mount can be used for fine and precise pointing thanks to the micrometric movements provided by the worm gear and 122-tooth ring gear system.

For effective polar alignment, simply use the bubble level function on your smartphone to set the mount's altitude with the dedicated knob to a value equal to your latitude of observation in degrees, and orient the mount itself in azimuth towards the Celestial North Pole. By then acting only on the Right Ascension axis via the micrometric controls, you can keep the object you are observing in the field of view.

The practicality and lightness of the mount will surprise you! The compact, foldable aluminum tripod is equipped with a convenient accessory tray to safely store all your eyepieces and your smartphone.
