Optolong L-PARA 2" – Dual Band Hα+OIII 10 nm Filter
The Optolong L-PARA 2" is a dual-band filter: it allows only the two emission lines of nebulae to pass through, Hα (656.3 nm) and OIII (500.7 nm), with a 10 nm band each. It cuts out light pollution and a good portion of moonlight: with a color camera, it allows for imaging emission nebulae, supernova remnants, and planetary nebulae even from city skies. Transmission remains above 85% even with fast optics, from f/2 to f/4.
- Dual band: Hα 656.3 nm and OIII 500.7 nm, 10 nm each
- Transmission over 85% on both lines, even with fast f/2 to f/4 optics
- Blocks out-of-band light from 300 to 1000 nm (average optical density over OD4)
- For emission nebulae, supernova remnants, and planetary nebulae, even with the Moon and from city skies
- For color cameras: CMOS, CCD, DSLR, and mirrorless
- 2" format with M48×0.75 threading
- Not suitable for galaxies, clusters, and reflection nebulae: these require a broadband filter, such as the Optolong L-Pro
