Optolong L-eXtreme 1.25" Filter

The Optolong L-eXtreme is a 7nm dual-bandpass filter that can be used with one-shot color cameras, such as DSLRs (Digital Single-Lens Reflex cameras) and monochrome CCD cameras. It is also suitable for "fast" optical systems. The nature of this filter makes it possible to photograph emission nebulae even in skies with heavy light pollution. Optolong believes that the design of the L-eXtreme filter would be a better, competitively priced choice for fast systems.

The Optolong L-eXtreme filter isolates the H-Alpha and OIII nebula emission lines, maximizing contrast and the signal-to-noise ratio between nebulae. For people living in areas with significant light pollution or those who want to take photos when the moon is out, the L-eXtreme is an excellent filter. Unlike the L-eNhance filter, which is a tri-band filter (transmitting Hb, Ha, and OIII), the L-eXtreme filter is a dual-band filter that allows the H-Alpha and OIII emission lines to pass through.
