iOptron SkyTracker Pro Mount

The legendary iOptron SkyTracker was the first "mature" camera tracker on the market, an accessory that fits easily into any bag or suitcase. Placed between the tripod and the camera, it turns your mount into an astronomical mount, allowing you to follow the movement of the night sky and use any camera or DSLR to capture fascinating shots of the night sky.

The evolution of the iOptron SkyTracker is the SkyTracker Pro. As with the previous version, the main features remain its ease of use and compact size; but in addition to this, the new SkyTracker Pro includes:

• an adjustable polar scope included, featuring eight-level adjustable illumination
• an integrated battery rechargeable via Mini-USB cable with a 24-hour battery life (instead of standard batteries)
• four tracking speeds: 1x, 0.5x, solar, and lunar; the 0.5x speed is interesting when you want to shoot the starry sky with the landscape in the background
• a base that, in addition to being adjustable in height and azimuth, is removable; this allows the SkyTracker Pro to be positioned on a photographic tripod; the base mount is compatible with common 1/4" and 3/8" photographic mounts
• the base is also equipped with an integrated bubble level, an anti-slip adjustment screw for azimuth, and a large lever for height adjustment; the graduated scale allows you to set the latitude, a useful feature when the North Star is not visible. Speaking of the North Star: the SkyTracker Pro naturally allows you to reverse the rotation direction, to use it in the Southern Hemisphere as well.
