iOptron CEM40G GoTo LiteRoc Mount
To learn more about the CEM series...
The CEM40 is the latest mount in iOptron’s Center-Balanced Equatorial Mount (CEM) series.
The mount weighs only 7.2 kilograms, yet carries optical instruments and accessories up to 18 kilograms. This excellent payload-to-weight ratio of 2.5 is why the CEM40 is so versatile. You can transport it to the best observation sites under dark skies or install it on a small pier in your garden observatory.
But the mount has even more advantages:
- The integrated iPolar electronic polar finder makes perfectly aligning the mount to the north a breeze, even when the North Star is not visible! Note: A laptop or PC is required to use the iPolar.
- Large levers allow you to disengage the RA and Dec movements from the gears to move the axes freely, even while wearing gloves.
- The internal cable management prevents tangles and breaks.
- The newly designed self-centering universal saddle accepts Losmandy and Vixen standard dovetail bars and provides precise alignment of your optics.
- The CNC-machined mount body not only looks elegant but is also durable.
The GoTo computer control includes the modern Go2Nova 8407+ hand controller, which features a heater to ensure the display does not fog up due to condensation. The database contains over 212,000 objects! Furthermore, the control system is equipped with a 32-channel GPS, which saves you the hassle of entering the date, location, and time. Naturally, the mount has an ST-4 port for autoguiding.
In addition to the special CEM design, the axis movement is a unique feature of this mount. The very quiet axis movement with stepper motors is ideal for balcony observatories and consumes relatively little power.
The CEM40 is a very versatile and advanced mount!
Note: This mount is available in two versions. The mount with a G in the designation also has an integrated autoguider in the mount head, iOptron's new iGuider! With this version of the mount, a separate autoguiding solution is no longer necessary!
The variant without an iGuider can be equipped with an external solution for tracking control. Such tracking controls are only necessary for astrophotography with long exposure times.
With or without encoders: The mount is available in two versions, both of which track your optics precisely across the night sky. The version with high-resolution encoders (EC) on both axes achieves a precision better than 0.25 arcseconds and corrects the periodic worm gear error in real time! This eliminates the need for guiding in astrophotography.
The LiteRoc tripod is a new tripod developed by iOptron that is as light as possible while remaining as stable as necessary. It is therefore very well suited for portable mounts for mobile observers and astrophotographers. Compared to the previous version, the LiteRoc tripod has a more stable mount for the extendable tripod legs and larger locking levers. The upper tripod legs have a diameter of 45 mm (1.75") and the lower section is 38 mm (1.5"). This makes the extendable legs just as strong as those of the previous 2" tripod. Thanks to the slimmer design of the upper section, the LiteRoc is lighter.
