Technical data sheet
Sky Quality Meter Photometer with Lens – L Version
The Sky Quality Meter – L Version is a portable instrument designed to measure the brightness of the night sky quickly and accurately. Thanks to the integrated lens, it offers a narrower field of view compared to the standard version, allowing for more selective measurements.
Measuring sky quality
The device provides values in magnitudes per square arcsecond (mag/arcsec²), the reference unit for assessing the level of light pollution. It is an instrument widely used by amateur astronomers, astronomical observatories, and environmental monitoring associations.
L version with narrow field of view
The front lens narrows the measurement field to approximately 20° FWHM, allowing peripheral light sources to be excluded and more consistent readings to be obtained in urban or semi-urban environments.
Practical use
- Observing site assessment
- Light pollution monitoring
- Comparing sky quality between different locations
- Support for scientific and educational projects
Operation
It is easy to use: point the sensor towards the zenith and start the measurement using the dedicated button. The display immediately shows the measured value.
