The Celestron C14 has nearly twice the optical power of the 9.25-inch model and is suitable for permanent observatory installation, yet it can still be considered a portable instrument that can be transported and set up by a single person. It is suitable for both visual observation and imaging, particularly for high-resolution planetary photography. This model is pre-configured for the addition of the Fastar/Hyperstar optical assembly (optional, manufactured by a third party), which allows for operation at the telescope's prime focus (f/2). The C14 is a semi-professional aperture telescope that offers remarkable optical performance, which is especially appreciated in the field of planetary imaging. The C14 also belongs to the family of Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, which are among the most modular astronomical instruments available, as they can perform optimally across a very wide range of focal lengths, making them suitable for use in a wide array of applications. The optics are treated with the high-transmission XLT coating. The included kit features high-quality accessories: a 9x50mm finder scope, a 2-inch 40mm Plössl eyepiece, a 2-inch diameter mirror diagonal, and a CGE/Losmandy/NEQ6 dovetail bar.
