Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 70 AZ

The new Celestron StarSense Explorer telescope series represents a new way of observing the night sky. A true revolution that finally joins the Celestron product catalog. Until now, our catalog consisted only of two broad categories of alt-azimuth instruments: manual and computer-controlled NexStar+.

With the new StarSense Explorer series, we have reinvented how astronomy is practiced by hobbyists. Forget complicated star charts, inaccurate planetarium apps, and expensive computer-controlled mounts. With Celestron StarSense Explorer telescopes, locating celestial objects has never been so simple and fast. Place your smartphone in the dedicated dock on the mount and launch the StarSense Explorer app. Once you have aligned the smartphone with the telescope's optics—a procedure that takes only a couple of minutes—you will have all the wonders of the night sky ready to be targeted. After selecting the desired object from those proposed and visible, simply follow the on-screen instructions on your smartphone, moving the telescope until you center the celestial object, whether it be the Moon, a planet, a galaxy, or a nebula.

The StarSense Explorer app allows you to select the object to target from a list of visible ones. It will then show you the direction you need to move in order to track it, zooming in closer and closer until you are on target. Now all you have to do is observe it through the telescope eyepiece. Unlike all systems currently on the market, including astronomical apps, the patented StarSense Explorer system AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZES THE EXACT POSITION OF THE TELESCOPE IN THE SKY using the brightest stars. How does the object targeting work? Choose the object you want to observe from the list proposed by the StarSense Explorer App. The StarSense Explorer app will show which direction to start moving the telescope manually. Move the telescope following the indications as shown in the app. Object centered. You can start observing. Celestron StarSense Explorer is compatible with most smartphones on the market. Discover the full list of compatible iOS and Android smartphones here. Simply follow the on-screen instructions on your smartphone for exciting views of the most beautiful celestial objects in the night sky.

Even from city skies, thanks to the telescope's generous aperture, you will have many of the most beautiful celestial objects in the night sky available for observation, including not only the planets and the Moon, but also the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, and many of the star clusters visible from Earth. In addition to the mount and the adjustable tripod with accessory tray, the instrument also comes with the optical tube, two eyepieces, a red dot finderscope, and an erect image diagonal.
