Celestron 4-piece color filter set (yellow, orange, blue, ND96) 31.8mm

Eyepiece filters are a great aid for lunar and planetary observations. They reduce glare and light scattering, increase contrast through selective filtration, improve definition and resolution, reduce irradiation, and decrease eye fatigue. Celestron color filters are mounted in black anodized aluminum cells with the Kodak Wratten series number engraved on the side. The cells of each filter are threaded on both sides to allow the filters to be stacked to create various combinations. This allows for different transmission characteristics or the same color characteristic with lower brightness. When you stack color filters, the effective transmission of the combination you create is equal to the product of the spectral transmission of each of the filters used. They are made of high-quality plane-parallel glass with excellent homogeneity. They are anti-reflection coated to prevent ghost images and halos. All eyepiece filters are threaded to fit Celestron eyepieces and the vast majority of 31.8mm diameter eyepieces from other manufacturers. They all have a clear aperture of 26mm.
