Celestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer/Corrector for SC

This optical accessory combines the features of a focal reducer and a field corrector and is designed to be used with all 5?, 6?, 8?, 9 1/4?, 11?, and 14? Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. This useful accessory transforms your instrument into a dual-focal-length telescope without sacrificing image quality. The Reducer/Corrector brings the focal ratio to f/6.3 for C5, C6, C8, C9¼, and C11 telescopes, and to f/7 for the C14. It offers a wider field of view with any Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. When used for astrophotography, it reduces exposure time by a factor of 3. Celestron does not offer "native" f/6.3 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes because this design is impractical, resulting in large central obstruction and a significant loss of contrast. All this, combined with the difficulty of obtaining longer focal lengths for capturing certain classes of celestial objects, led Celestron to design the four-element f/6.3 Reducer/Corrector, which offers excellent results for both visual and photographic use. PLEASE NOTE: The CE94175 Reducer/Corrector is not optically compatible with Celestron Edge HD optical systems. It screws onto the rear cell thread of all Celestron SCTs.
