Celestron 5kg Counterweight for AVX, CGEM, CGX mounts - 19mm bore

The use of additional accessories such as cameras, dew shields, tele-extenders, and 2-inch diagonals and eyepieces affects telescope balance. It is therefore necessary to restore proper balance by adding one or more counterweights to make mount corrections easier and achieve better tracking precision. Perfect balance is not strictly required for the telescope to function. In reality, it is not always possible to achieve perfect balance with fixed-position weights. All you need to do is reduce or eliminate oscillations when tightening the RA and Dec axis locks on the mount. Additional counterweights help you achieve proper balance and the resulting telescope stability. Compatibility: Advanced VX/CG-5/CGEM/CGEM II/CGX
