Celestron CGX 925 EDGE HD

The Edge HD 925 telescope uses aplanatic Edge HD Schmidt-Cassegrain optics corrected to the diffraction limit. The Edge HD optical system combines the popular compactness of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with newly designed high-definition optics that allow for wide-field images with quality typical of astrographs. When used visually, Edge HD optics provide pinpoint stellar images right to the edge, even with 2-inch ultra-wide-angle eyepieces. When used for astroimaging, Edge HD optics produce aberration-free images across the entire field covered by CCD or DSLR cameras, even with Full Frame formats. All Edge HD optics have been designed to produce a very flat focal plane, generating perfectly focused stellar images up to the extreme edge of the sensor. The Edge HD 925 is suitable for both visual and photographic use and has been designed to be modular, capable of operating optimally in focal length ranges between 470 and 10,000 mm (with optional accessories, including those produced by third parties). The XLT optical coating enhances light transmission, also offering very high contrast on both planets and deep-sky objects. Edge HD telescopes are also Fastar/Hyperstar compatible and are equipped with a primary mirror locking system and micro-filtered side vents to speed up the process of reaching thermal equilibrium for the optics. The kit includes several quality accessories: a 9x50mm finderscope, a 2'' Luminos 23mm ultrawide eyepiece, a 2-inch diameter star diagonal, and a CGE/Losmandy/NEQ6 dovetail bar.
