Technical data sheet
Celestron CGEM II 925
Optical tube with diffraction-limited Schmidt-Cassegrain optics that produce sharp images across a wide field of view. The Celestron C9.25 is a medium-aperture telescope that has become famous for its remarkable optical performance, which is especially appreciated in the field of planetary imaging. The C9.25 is suitable for universal use, both astronomical and terrestrial, visual and photographic, and belongs to the family of Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, which are among the most modular astronomical instruments in existence. They can operate optimally across a very wide range of focal lengths, making them useful for a broad range of applications, both astronomical and terrestrial. The optics are treated with the high-efficiency XLT light-transmission coating. FEATURES Optical Design Schmidt-Cassegrain Diameter 235 mm Focal Length 2350 mm Focal Ratio f/10 Obstruction 0.34 Light gathering power 1127x (naked eye=1) Coating Starbright XLT Focusing Via primary mirror movement Fastar compatibility No Tube material Aluminum OTA length 559 mm Weight 9 kg Born as an update to the famous CGEM model, the CGEM II features an attractive, bold, and modern look and is capable of supporting Celestron SCT optical tubes up to 11” securely and without any vibration, making it ideal for both imaging and visual observation. The 18kg payload capacity and 5° per second slew speed will allow you to instantly point to any of the 40,000 objects (+100 user-programmable objects) present in the hand controller's database. New, more ergonomic and durable knobs, a new dovetail bar (Vixen and Losmandy), functional improvements such as graduated marks on the tripod, the geometry of the azimuth and altitude adjustment, and the intelligent layout of internal cables, in addition to decisive mechanical improvements to the motors (equipped with optical encoders), gears, and ball bearings, will allow for easy, fast, precise, and secure alignment and tracking procedures. The ability to perform daytime pointing of the Sun, Moon, and planets, to correct periodic error, and to perform polar alignments accurate to the arcsecond without necessarily seeing the North Star is certainly a must-have that you will never want to do without. The new hand controllers equipped with a USB port will allow for efficient computer connections (via ASCOM protocol) accessible to anyone who wants to control and align their telescope using their PC and the NexRemote software (included). In addition to the more than 40,000 objects already stored in the hand controller, another 100 can be added at the user's discretion for customization.
