Celestron CGEM II 1100
Tube with diffraction-limited Schmidt-Cassegrain optics that allow for sharp images across a wide field of view. The Celestron C11 is a medium-to-high aperture telescope with remarkable optical performance that is especially appreciated in the field of planetary imaging. The C11 is a magnificent telescope for both visual and photographic astronomical use and belongs to the Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain family, which are among the most modular astronomical instruments in existence; they can operate optimally across a very wide range of focal lengths, making them usable with satisfaction for a broad array of applications. The optics are treated with XLT high light transmission coating. FEATURES Optical Design Schmidt-Cassegrain Diameter 280 mm Focal Length 2800 mm Focal Ratio f/10 Obstruction 0.34 Light gathering 1593x (naked eye=1) Coating Starbright XLT Focusing Via primary mirror shift Fastar compatibility No Tube Material Aluminum OTA Length 610 mm Weight 12 kg Born as an update to the famous CGEM model, the CGEM II has an attractive, bold, and modern look and is capable of supporting Celestron SCT optical tubes up to 11" securely and without any vibration, making it ideal for both imaging and visual observation. The 18kg load capacity and 5° per second slew rate will allow you to instantly point to any of the 40,000 objects (+100 user-programmable objects) present in the hand controller database. The new, more ergonomic and durable knobs, the new dovetail bar (Vixen and Losmandy), functional improvements such as graduated markings on the tripod, the geometry of the azimuth and altitude adjustment, and the intelligent layout of internal cables, in addition to some decisive mechanical improvements to the motors (equipped with optical encoders), gears, and ball bearings, will allow for easy, fast, precise, and secure alignment and tracking procedures. The ability to perform daytime pointing of the Sun, Moon, and planets, to correct periodic error, and to perform polar alignments precise to the arcsecond even without necessarily seeing the North Star is certainly a must-have that you will not be able to do without. The new hand controllers equipped with a USB port allow for efficient computer connections (via ASCOM protocol) and are within reach of anyone who wants to control and align their telescope using their PC and the NexRemote software (included). In addition to the over 40,000 objects already stored in the hand controller, another 100 can be added at the user's discretion and personalization. FEATURES Mount Type German Equatorial Load Capacity 18kg Tripod Leg Diameter 2” with graduated markings Latitude Adjustment Range 15º-70º Tripod Weight 9kg Equatorial Head Weight 18kg Maximum Speed 5º/second Tracking Speed Sidereal, Solar, Lunar.
