Bob's Knobs Quick Collimation System for 10" f/10 Meade SCT

Collimation knobs for all 10" f/10 Meade telescopes (LX90, LX200, LX200ACF, LX200R, others)

This item is compatible with all 10" Meade models that feature 6 collimation screws on the secondary mirror. The package includes an Allen wrench for the safe removal of the original screws.

The telescope dust cover can be installed even when the Bob's Knobs are mounted. If this is not possible, an optional spacer kit is available.

Installing Bob's Knobs is extremely simple and safe: the package includes a detailed manual that will guide you through the process of removing the factory screws and installing the Bob's Knobs. In particular, by replacing the screws individually, one at a time, there is no risk of the secondary mirror detaching from its cell. We also recommend pointing the telescope downward so that gravity helps stabilize the secondary mirror within its cell.

Collimation is essential for achieving optimal observational results, especially when operating at high resolution, both visually and during imaging. The factory-supplied screws are often quite inconvenient to adjust, especially when working in the dark, in uncomfortable thermal conditions, or while looking through the instrument. This obviously requires significant effort and a non-negligible waste of observational time. Bob's Knobs simplify this task, as they are equipped with a knob that is easy to handle even in the dark, with gloves, or in cold weather.
