Auriga 90° Dielectric Diagonal

The 90° dielectric mirror diagonals represent a true "must-have" for any amateur astronomer's equipment. We have thought of everything. From the "Quick Lock" mechanical system with comfortable knurling to the design and, last but not least, the optical quality. Dielectric coating R=0.99 and 1/10 λ? Most mirror diagonals on the market provide a reflectivity of just over 90%, meaning that images—which might be exceptionally sharp natively—are degraded by the presence of the inexpensive diagonal used. The Auriga diagonal, on the other hand, features a dielectric reflective surface that reflects 99% of the incident light towards the eyepiece. The result? Bright, high-contrast images without any appreciable loss in terms of contrast modulation. In addition to allowing exceptional levels of reflectivity, the dielectric coating, thanks to its 1/10 λ optical correction, avoids unwanted losses of definition and contrast in your instrument's images, thus ensuring perfect, flawless observations, especially in the case of high-resolution work. Quick Lock System Do you own large and heavy eyepieces and want to use them with your telescope? The convenient and effective Quick Lock system allows for a secure grip on the barrel of any eyepiece. Simply unscrew and tighten the ring to lock the eyepiece in the desired position. The knurling ensures a secure grip on each ring. Whether you are using 31.8mm or 50.8mm diameter eyepieces, you will be able to use them without any problems and without worrying about damaging or scratching them. The classic screw-lock system, in fact, used to mark the mounting barrel and had a tendency to tilt the eyepiece itself within the diagonal. With the Quick Lock system, however, you can be certain that your optical train—even when inserting heavy and large Barlow lenses or other accessories—is always perfectly aligned, with no tip or tilt to ruin your observations. To use a classic 31.8mm eyepiece, tighten the 50.8mm/31.8mm adapter by screwing the larger ring on the diagonal, unscrew the one on the adapter, insert the eyepiece, and screw down the smaller ring you previously loosened. To use 2'' eyepieces, simply remove the 50.8/31.8 adapter and insert your eyepiece.
