Auriga 90° Dielectric Diagonal

The 90° dielectric mirror diagonals are a true "must-have" for any amateur astronomer's kit. We have thought of everything. From the "Quick Lock" mechanical system with convenient knurling, to the design, and last but not least, the optical quality. Dielectric coating R=0.99 and 1/10λ! Most mirror diagonals on the market provide a reflectivity of just over 90%, meaning that images, even if natively exceptional, are degraded by the budget diagonal being used. The Auriga diagonal, on the other hand, features a dielectric reflective surface that reflects 99% of incident light toward the eyepiece. The result? Bright, high-contrast images with no appreciable loss in terms of contrast modulation. In addition to allowing exceptional levels of reflectivity, the dielectric treatment—thanks to the 1/10 λ optical correction—avoids unwanted losses in definition and contrast in your instrument's images, for perfect, flawless observations, especially when conducting high-resolution viewing. Quick Lock System Do you own large, heavy eyepieces that you want to use with your telescope? The convenient and effective Quick Lock system allows for a secure grip on the barrel of any eyepiece. Simply unscrew and screw the ring to lock the eyepiece in the desired position. The knurling allows for a secure grip on each ring. If you have 31.8mm diameter eyepieces, you will be able to use them without any problems and without worrying about damaging or denting them. The classic screw-lock system typically used to score the insertion barrel and had a tendency to tilt the eyepiece itself within the diagonal. With the Quick Lock system, however, you can be sure that your optical train—even when inserting heavy and large Barlow lenses or other accessories—will always be perfectly aligned, with no tip or tilt to ruin your observations. To use a classic 31.8mm eyepiece, unscrew the diagonal’s knurled ring, insert the eyepiece, and screw the ring back on. You will thus have exciting and comfortable observations of the beauties of the Cosmos at your disposal.
