Ast Optics DHSM125 Anti-Dew Heater for 8" GSO Newtonian Secondary Mirror

This strap solves the problem of condensation on the secondary mirror by providing moderate heating from the rear. By raising the temperature by a few degrees, it prevents condensation from forming on the mirror surface and can save an evening of observation or astrophotography.

The strap has a specific shape designed to be effective on the secondary mirror. Furthermore, it is equipped with a velcro strap, which allows it to be firmly attached to the optics.

This model is optimal for telescopes with glued secondary mirrors, with a diameter of 1.25" or 31mm. The strap is flexible and has been designed for Skywatcher and Celestron Newtonian telescopes, but it can also be used on ONTC and Lacerta Newtonians.

We recommend a low-temperature setting so that it generates little heat, transferring it bit by bit. A high temperature can generate air turbulence. However, if the secondary is covered in dew, only maximum power will eliminate it; then, once removed, the temperature can be lowered.
