Acuter Luma-X 40ED – 2-in-1 H-Alpha and White Light Solar Telescope
Acuter Luma-X 40ED – The 2-in-1 solar telescope
The Acuter Luma-X 40ED does what previously required two separate instruments: observing the Sun in H-Alpha for prominences and filaments, and in white light for sunspots and granulation. Switching between the two modes is done with a simple selector on the diagonal, without disassembling anything or changing filters.
Two ways to view the Sun- H-Alpha mode: 40 mm front etalon with a bandwidth of 0.6 Å or less, for prominences at the limb, filaments, flares, and active regions of the chromosphere at 656.3 nm
- White light mode: observation of the photosphere with sunspots, penumbrae, and granulation
The objective integrates an ED glass element that improves sharpness, contrast, and color rendering compared to achromats in the same category. The distinctive square-section tube is not just for aesthetics: it rests stably on any surface and simplifies attachment to a mount.
Main features- Dual H-Alpha / white light function with integrated diagonal selector
- 40 mm front etalon, bandwidth ≤ 0.6 Å
- 40 mm ED optics, f/6.25 (250 mm focal length)
- Compliant with ISO 12312-2:2015 transmission requirements
- Compact and lightweight: ideal for travel and field use
- Perfect for visual observation and taking the first steps in solar imaging
- Manufacturer: Acuter
- Model: Luma-X 40ED (ST 40/250)
- Aperture: 40 mm
- Focal length: 250 mm
- Focal ratio: f/6.25
- Optical design: refractor with ED element
- H-Alpha bandwidth: ≤ 0.6 Å at 656.3 nm
- Mode: switchable H-Alpha and white light
- Certification: ISO 12312-2:2015
Those who want a single instrument for all solar observation: enthusiasts following the solar cycle, educators, schools, and anyone who wants to be ready for an eclipse with a safe and easy-to-use instrument.
⚠️ SAFETY WARNING: use only with the original etalon and filters properly installed. Never observe the Sun through the finderscope or without the safety components in place. Read the manual before use.
