Applications for fine-tuning rings: • Optimization of the distance between the camera and the corrector • Fine-tuning of extremely short distances, of a few millimeters, where extension tubes are too long due to their construction • Overly long male threads can be bridged so that they are no longer an inconvenience (as in the case of the TS quick filter changer, where the male thread would block the drawer) • Particularly fine threads tend to jam or seize, making them impossible to unscrew.
