The Reducer\/Corrector brings the focal ratio to f\/6.3 for C5, C6, C8, C9¼, and C11 telescopes, and to f\/7 for the C14. It offers a wider field of view with any Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. When used for astrophotography, it reduces exposure time by a factor of 3. Celestron does not offer \"native\" f\/6.3 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes because this design is impractical, resulting in large central obstruction and a significant loss of contrast. All this, combined with the difficulty of obtaining longer focal lengths for capturing certain classes of celestial objects, led Celestron to design the four-element f\/6.3 Reducer\/Corrector, which offers excellent results for both visual and photographic use. PLEASE NOTE: The CE94175 Reducer\/Corrector is not optically compatible with Celestron Edge HD optical systems.
